Due to the delay with the start, the gelding became fractious in the barriers and reared prior to the start being effected. Slow to begin. When asked to explain the horse's performance R. Wiggins explained that the gelding never travelled comfortably after not beginning well and in his view would be suited to racing over a further distance than that of today's event. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant finding.
