J. Byrne advised stewards that after his mount travelled well in the lead in a race that he believed the tempo was only steady, he was very disappointed with the horse's finishing effort when asked to improve passing the 400m and failed to respond and weakened badly. Trainer advised he would recommend to owners that the horse be spelled.
