When questioned regarding the horse's performance, R. McMahon noted that the gelding was first up today from a spell. He added that the gelding raced strongly in the early and middle stages and that this, combined with it being first up, had a detrimental effect on its performance. Jockey McMahon was of the view that the gelding will derive a fitness benefit from today's race.
