Jockey J. Lloyd reported that he intended to be in a midfield position, however after being slightly slow to begin and then placed in restricted room shortly after the start he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated. He added that he was reluctant to place undue pressure on the horse from a wide barrier to obtain a midfield position, so he was content to restrain to a one-off position towards the tail of the field.
