Connections advised that after being slow to begin at its last start the horse was ridden forward and then overraced and that the intention today would be to race in a midfield position with cover if circumstances permit. Raced midfield but did not obtain cover. Raced four wide from the 800m.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that before racing again the horse must trial satisfactorily and a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG, must be produced.
