J. Lloyd dropped his whip near the 800m, before regathering it soon afterwards. This resulted in J. Lloyd becoming unbalanced in the saddle and losing ground. J. Lloyd was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts to the end of the race. When assessing the matter, stewards were comfortable that jockey Lloyd’s actions had not materially affected his mount’s placing in the race.

When questioned regarding the horse’s seemingly improved performance, Mr Nipperess explained that at its most previous start he was of the view that the horse got its tongue back and may have choked down during the race and for this reason he added a tongue tie today. He added that MUCH DEEPER races well on rain-affected tracks and is suited by the distance of today’s race. Stewards noted his explanation.
