Laid in slightly passing the 900m, tightening SATURN OPS in on to CASTLETON. After racing three wide without cover in the early and middle stages was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the lead passing the 700m. When questioned, trainer B. Hill stated that the gelding was first up from a spell and had been working well and also had trialled well recently. Mr Hill added that the gelding had always shown ability in previous campaigns but had proved disappointing in some of its runs, however, after performing well in its recent trial, when ridden by apprentice Hodge, he was optimisti
