Began awkwardly, resulting in jockey R. Fradd’s shoulder making heavy contact with the barrier partition. Overraced when in a trailing position approaching the winning post on the first occasion. When the pace steadied in the middle stages, rider R. Fradd elected to shift three wide to improve passing the 800m. Forced four wide passing the 700m when SEARING SPEED, which was racing to the inside, shifted out to improve.

After being caught wide without cover in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400m. Blundered and lost considerable ground passing the 500m when cramped for room between TOLEMAC and SIMPLY SACRED, which shifted out slightly. At a subsequent inquiry, after taking evidence from the riders concerned and reviewing the patrol footage, stewards could not attribute blame to any rider, noting the interference as a racing incident, and took no further action.

After being caught three wide joint leader approaching the winning post on the first occasion, was allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead passing the 1500m. Laid out passing the 500m. Slightly hampered between runners passing the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained superficial lacerations to the near hind hock, consistent with being galloped on. The filly was treated and bandaged prior to leaving the course.
