When asked to comment on the disappointing performance apprentice said that under the impost of 62.5 kg he was unable to muster sufficient early speed to obtain the outright lead, as were his instructions. He added that after travelling comfortably throughout, the gelding failed to quicken under his impost and proved disappointing.
