When questioned regarding the gelding racing back in the field, Jockey N. Day said that at its previous start, when racing in a forward position, his mount had a tendency to over-race, however with the addition of the cross-over nose band today, the fast pace of runners to the inside and from a wide barrier he had no option than to obtain a position towards the rear of the field, where it over-raced for a short distance from the 1000 metres to the 800 metres.
