Was ridden forward form the tail of the field from the 1200m and took up a position outside the lead passing the 850m. It was reported to stewards by a race day official following the running of Race 7 that blood had been observed in both nostrils of the gelding. Mr Cornish indicated that the presence of blood was as a result of external trauma and therefore Mr Cornish will be advised that an endoscopic examination must be performed on the hose within 24 hours of today’s race.

Slow to begin. Performed disappointingly and finished a distant last. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J. Holcombe was at a loss to explain the performance and gave an undertaking he will have blood tests performed in the coming days and report back to stewards with the findings. Veterinary reports found no abnormalities and Mr Holcombe indicated that the horse would be sent for a spell.
