Raced wide throughout. J. Lloyd reported that the horse hung in in the straight and was awkward in its action following the event. Vetted post-race and found to have an elevated heart rate.

When asked to comment on the horse’s performance, apprentice H. English indicated that the horse overraced in the early stages and when asked for an effort after passing the 600m failed to respond and was quite disappointing. Vetted, no abnormalities. Trainer S. Kirkwood advised stewards that veterinary tests, including blood tests, would be performed on the horse, the results of which he would report to stewards, and in light of today’s performance, he would give consideration to sending the horse for a spell.
