When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in leading today, apprentice R. Johnston-Bell indicated that as the trainer had informed stewards two starts ago at the Gold Coast the horse would be ridden forward, he was complying with similar instructions in today’s event. Stewards noted his comments.

Stewards asked apprentice S. Fawke to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated that although the horse raced very greenly throughout the event, it responded well to his riding in the home straight and he was obliged to stop riding and alter course near the 100m in order to secure clear running. He was of the view that the horse would take benefit from the run and he had recommended to connections to step the horse up over 1600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of blood in the offside nostril as a result of external trauma.
