Jockey J. Lloyd advised that after having a favourable midfield position one off the fence the horse did overrace for a short distance when the pace was only steady in the early stages. He added that runners then improved around the field during the middle stages and he settled further back in the field than he would have liked. When rounding the home turn he improved into clear running, however the horse was very disappointing in the straight and failed to finish the race off.
