Stewards questioned jockey R. Stewart regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages when it appeared he had opportunity to improve to obtain a position closer to the lead. He explained that he had pre-race plans to settle at the tail of the field as connections had indicated the horse had not performed well when positioned more forward.
