Stewart was severely admonished and advised that his actions regarding this incident bordered on reckless. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight and again near the 200m.

Jockey M. Cahill reported his mount was very disappointing in the run to the line. He indicated the horse had to work a little bit in the early stages when pressured in the lead, however the horse failed to respond to his riding over the final 400m. Trainer L. Birchley confirmed his disappointment in the performance and would look to experiment with the horses gear in trackwork and attempt to have the horse ridden with cover if possible at its next race start.
