Overraced in the early stage and when restrained from heels near the 1000m shifted wider and as a result raced 3 wide. Stewards questioned apprentice jockey S. Lacy regarding her riding of the horse, particularly in the home straight when it appeared she restrained the horse after leaving the 400m and had some difficulty approaching the 300m. She indicated the horse was hanging out badly, which was uncharacteristic for the mare. Stewards in reviewing the film accepted the explanation. Trainer Mr P. Duncan was also interviewed.
