Jockey S. Galloway was questioned regarding the circumstances which resulted in a towel being caught on his foot when his mount left the barriers and being dropped at approximately the 1350m. Jockey Galloway advised he had asked for a towel to dry sweat from his mount’s neck when behind the barriers and he had laid it across the horse’s shoulder whilst waiting to be placed in the barriers. He had then forgotten he had the towel and it remained on the horse until it became dislodged. Stewards considered the explanation and reprimanded jockey Galloway under AR175(k), in that his actions were
