M. Cahill was asked to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated that after being slightly tardy to begin the horse did not respond to his urgings in the early stages and was reluctant to hold a position. He added that the horse had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn and in doing so made contact with another runner and then laid out under pressure in the home straight. He indicated that the horse would benefit from a step up in distance.

Improved on to heels over the final 100m and was obliged to alter course. Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount was unable to muster early speed and will benefit from a step up in distance.

R. Wiggins reported that he felt his mount was awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Became awkward at heels when shifting closer to the fence near the 800m and had to be steadied. Continued to race ungenerously and hung out from the 600m before being bumped by another runner near the 400m. Bled from both nostrils during the event. Ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing must gallop satisfactorily over 100m in the presence of a steward.
