Bumped by another runner near the 500m and forced wider. When asked to comment, jockey M. Cahill indicated that he had been asked to lead. He said his mount settled outside the lead and travelled comfortably until the home turn when the horse became awkward in its action and then commenced to weaken badly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stewards will speak with trainer A. Williamson in the days subsequent to the event to ascertain whether anything has come to light in relation to the horse.
