Jockey L. Cassidy reported to stewards he was disappointed with the overall performance of his mount. He indicated it had been his intention to settle midfield if possible, however was obliged to settle further back. He indicated that rounding the home turn the horse had improved well into the event, however after being bumped by another runner passing the 400m, then failed to respond to his riding and, in his view, was disappointing in the run to the line.

Slow to begin. Jockey Hellyer was asked to comment on the performance of the mare, which finished last. He indicated that the horse was disappointing in his opinion, however added that the horse was second up in today’s event and has previously not had a good second up record, however could not add any further explanation for the performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
