Thornton, rider of SCALLOPINI, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that at a point near the 1000m he commenced to shift in, placing pressure on the runner to the inside, CRACK ME UP, and continued to place pressure on that horse until CRACK ME UP was unable to maintain that position at a point near the 700m, resulting in Jockey M. McGillivray having to take hold and lose ground at that point. Raced wide.
