Bumped by MITTA MARY near the 800m and from that point onwards commenced to weaken and finished last. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G. Duncan was asked to comment. He indicated that he would trial the horse in blinkers in light of today’s performance and look to race the horse in blinkers with a view to attempt to lead next start. He felt that the horse did not race well as a result of settling amongst other runners. Mr Duncan was fined the sum of $100 for allowing the horse to leave the course prior to 30 minutes after the race.
