Apprentice C. Bayliss was asked to comment on the tactics adopted which resulted in his mount leading, which is not the horse’s established racing pattern. He stated that it had not been his intention to lead and he had anticipated QUALITY SEEKER taking up the lead, which would have afforded him cover. However, in the early stages QUALITY SEEKER steadied and took up a position trailing his mount.
