Rider B Thompson reported it was not his intention to race in a forward position, however after being caught wide in the early stages, he elected to stride forward and lead the event from the 900 metres. Rider B Thompson fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted.

Forced wider near the 850 metres when had to be steadied from the heels of SPOTTED WONDER. As a result the mare was obliged to race four wide without cover for the remainder of the race.

Checked near 900 metres. N Tomizawa, rider of EXAMINATIONS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a), in that he permitted his mount to shift in to a position closer to the rail near the 900 metres when insufficiently clear of EARN OUT which had to be checked and lose ground. The license of N Tomizawa to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 21st November up to and including 30th November 2020. Near 750 metres improved onto the heels of EXAMINATIONS when over-racing.
