The start was delayed when the gelding had to be re-saddled behind the barriers. On returning to scale Jockey reported that after racing wide throughout the gelding laid in down the running, placing him at a severe disadvantage in riding his mount out. The racing manners of the gelding were brought to the attention of trainer, who undertook to experiment with the horse’s gear. He also expressed his disappointment with the performance and said that he would report back to the stewards in the days subsequent to the event.
