Passing the 1400 metres was following another runner which made contact with the running rail causing it to move considerably resulting in the gelding going through the rail and the apprentice to be dislodged. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Passing the 1400 metres was crowded onto heels and blundered. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which was restrained out of the race near the 600 metres did not reveal any abnormalities. Nevertheless trainer was told that the gelding must trial before its next race start.
