After being fractious in the barriers was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Made contact with the running rail leaving the 600m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer subsequently advised Stewards that blood samples taken from the gelding revealed no abnormalities, and it was his intention to continue with the horse's current preparation.
