Following the race trainer J. Edwards reported the horse was lame. A post race veterinary examination was found to have a bowed tendon in its off foreleg. Connections will be advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

questioned the tactics adopted, in particular the middle stages when the horse raced several lengths clear of the main body of the field, and the performance of the horse, jockey C. Small stated he to work harder than anticipated to obtain the leading position and following that he allowed his mount to travel at a comfortable pace without being pressured, however the gelding did not respond to his riding from the 600m and proved disappointing. Trainer L. Small advised it was her intention to start the horse at Ballina on the 12th of March and would then review its current preparation.
