Rider questioned re disappointing performance. He said the gelding raced very one-paced today when racing second up from a spell. He added that he could offer no tangible explanation for the horse’s poor performance and suggested to connections that the gelding may be better suited in races over a greater distance than today's event. Trainer could offer no explanation for the performance, however advised that it would be his intention to step the horse up in distance and undertook to report to stewards anything that comes to light which may have had an effect on the performance.
