Awkwardly placed at heels over the final 50m. When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, apprentice A. Jones stated that ICE IN VANCOUVER travelled well however did not respond as expected when placed under pressure in the home straight and may not have appreciated today’s track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of the thumps.
