Commenced to hang out badly approaching the first turn near the 1400m despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in JOURNALIST being checked, forced wider and losing substantial ground. The horse continued to hang out for the remainder of the event, proving difficult to ride, and was eventually eased out of the race near the 400m. Trainer B. Ahrens was advised that the horse would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial before being permitted to race again.
