After arriving on course the gelding was kicked by another horse in the vicinity of the tie-up stalls, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Raced wide throughout. Rider M. Gray reported that the horse hung out throughout the event and as a consequence the bit shifted leaving the 700m, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
