When questioned re her riding of the gelding App said that she had been instructed to ride her mount back in the field early and ensure she got to the outside of runners. She added that after beginning fairly her mount settled in a rearward position however when she moved away from the running rail it then commenced to overrace and made a long sustained run around the field and assumed the lead where it commenced to hang out rounding the home turn. Trainer confirmed instructions issued however agreed with the stewards that App should have made a greater effort to restrain in the early stages.

Crowded for room at the start. Brushed the running rail near the 900 metres. Passing the 200 metres improved into a doubtful run, had to be steadied when disappointed for that run and was held up thereafter.
