When questioned regarding the horse’s performance and his riding in the home straight, R. Fradd explained that when entering the home straight the gelding was inclined to lay in, which he felt was similar to its last start performance when it bled from one nostril and for this reason he was reluctant to overly pressure his mount over the concluding stages. Stewards advised jockey Fradd that he would be expected to report any matter that may have had an effect on a horse’s performance so as not to leave his riding open to question.
