When questioned as to the performance App. McGillivray stated that despite being forced to race wide early, he was content to stride forward to take up a handy position, however, the gelding was under pressure leaving the 700m and proved disappointing. App. McGillivray was of the view that the gelding may have come to the end of its current preparation. Trainer T Edmonds confirmed that the gelding would be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.
