Rider questioned re tactics after beginnig well was restrained to settle at rear of field. Stated from awkward barrier instructed to obtain cover back in field as had performed best when ridden in this manner. After making contact with BELLEVUE AVENUE near 1000m commenced to race keenly and was obliged to restrain to obtain cover, resulting in settling further back than anticipated. Then forced to race wide rounding home turn and in home straight where going was inferior however, doing best work over final 100m and may suit a step up in distance. Trainer confirmed instructions.
