Raced wide early before pressing forward to obtain a position outside leader passing 1300m. Weakened over concluding stages proving disappointing. Rider explained after being wide early obtained trailing position passing 900m. Stated only travelled fairly from that point on and passing 650m commenced to weaken and in his opinion was making an upper respiratory noise and elected not to pressure over concluding stages. Vetted - no abnormalities. Stable reported sustained small laceration to outside of near fore leg. Trainer advised will require endoscope and vet clearance.
