App. C Frater-Hill reported to stewards that once obtaining the lead by a considerable distance which is the established racing pattern, the mare then commenced to race keenly and was inclined to lay in. She added that this was uncharacteristic behaviour and as a result felt that this had a detrimental effect on the mare being able to finish the race off and in her opinion the mare may not have been suited to the step-up to 1800m.
