When questioned by Stewards regarding the improved performance, Trainer Mr. R. Lipp explained that the filly had lead and set a fast tempo at its most recent start and, as a result, weakened over the final stages. He added that, in his opinion, this race was a more suitable class than the three year old handicap it raced in at its last start. Stewards noted the explanation.

When questioned by Stewards regarding the disappointing performance, jockey M. DuPlessis reported that the gelding travelled fairly and, in his opinion, had a reasonably good run in the lead, however when placed under pressure it failed to respond. He added that, in his opinion, the gelding may require a spell. Trainer Mr D. Duryea advised that it is her intention for the horse to be sent for an immediate spell. Stewards noted the explanations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
