Raced 3 wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining the position outside the leader after passing the 800m. After racing in a forward position, commenced to weaken rounding the home turn and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be stepping short in its off hind. Trainer C. Cousins was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
