Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start of this event and was cleared to race. Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Lloyd indicated as the horse was having its first start and had not shown early speed in its barrier trial, he was instructed to settle his mount where comfortable and after travelling well responded to his riding in the home straight and was doing its best work over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of lameness in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to next race start.
