As jockey R. McMahon’s arrival on course was delayed, D. Griffin was substituted as the rider of the horse. When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, jockey Griffin indicated his mount raced quite greenly in the early and middle stages after he had been instructed to allow the horse to settle out of the barriers. He indicated that, in his opinion, the gelding finished the race off strongly despite laying in form the 400m onwards. He added that trainer Mr B. Baldwin suggested he would now look to spell the horse

Harrison advised that it raced very greenly in the early stages and made the home turn awkwardly, however when placed under pressure in the home straight responded well and was doing its best work over the concluding stages and felt the horse would appreciate a step up in distance to 1200m.
