When questioned by Stewards regarding the mare’s seemingly improved performance, Trainer B. Currie advised that the mare was not suited to the firm racing surfaces at its most recent starts at Dalby and Gatton. He went on to say that two starts ago at Toowoomba he was unable to offer an explanation for the mare’s seemingly disappointing performance. He also advised that, in his opinion, today’s racing surface, combined with racing at a track where the mare has an exceptional record, were the major contributing factors to the horse’s improved performance.
