Jockey R. Goltz reported that the gelding travelled strongly on the bit throughout, however when asked to improve from the 300m the gelding failed to quicken as expected and, in his opinion, proved disappointing in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery.
