Clipped heels passing the 1000m, blundered badly and lost ground. Apprentice B. Nothdurft reported that the horse did not travel and was eased down in the home straight, which he attributed to the early interference suffered. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the off fore and near hind legs and that the gelding had cast the off hind plate. Stewards will follow up in coming days with trainer T. Sears regarding the horse’s post-race recovery. A swab sample was taken.
