A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slower than normal recovery rate. Trainer reported horse pulled up well and an an endoscopic examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Only tangible explanation was that it may have resented being restrained once it found the lead as had performace poorly in the past when ridden in a similar fashion. Will instruct rider to allow horse to travel along in lead without being restrained next start. If again performs poorly will reaccess current campagin.
