N. Tomizawa was questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance. He explained that the gelding travelled comfortably until he shifted three wide and applied pressure approaching the home turn and in his opinion the horse did not feel comfortable in its action in the early part of the home straight so when weakening he elected to ease the horse down. Trainer T. Sears undertook to report to stewards in coming days anything that may explain today’s performance. Vetted, no abnormalities. Must trial satisfactorily before racing again.
