Hampered and forced wider near the 1600m and after being caught 3 wide was allowed to press forward to obtain the lead near the 1200m. When questioned regarding the improved performance, Trainer K Loy explained that the gelding was having its second start for the stable and she was of the view that the gelding would appreciate today’s track conditions and the step-up in distance. Stewards noted her comments.
